05/12/13–After planting some plants with her mother Rayna Teck, 15, of Highland look for Herring in the creek. Scenic Hudson sponsored their third annual Mother’s Day planting on Sunday, May 12, 2013. This was the first time the location was at the Black Creek Preserve in Esopus. Fifteen families showed up to plant 25 ferns, 15 Witch Hazel shrubs, 7 White Oak trees and 2 Viburnum plants. This was done in an area to prevent soil erosion.
